Christian Ragnartz, chief analyst at Swedish buffer fund AP7, has been named to the new role of head of asset management at the fund. He’ll oversee external management, income management, ethics and corporate governance issues. He sits on Ethix SRI Advisors’ Advisory Council and is a member of the FTSE4Good Policy Committee. UNPRI: Jamie Dettmer, former journalist and head of communications at the Cato Institute, who joined the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI) as Director of Communications at the end of 2010, has left the organisation. Dettmer’s responsibilities are currently being looked after by Anastasia Guha, Events and Communications Manager at the PRI.
Finland: Nordea Investment Funds has hired Antti Savilaakso as its Director of Responsible Investments & Governance, Finland. The hire reflects rapid growth in the Finnish RI market including the founding of the Finnish Sustainable Investment Forum (Finsif) six months ago, of which Nordea was one of the founding members. Several Finnish asset owners have also signed up to the UNPRI.
Savilaakso was most recently a Senior Responsible Investment Analyst at Responsible Research in Singapore and before that a Sustainability Analyst at Dexia Asset Management. Link to Finsif

Bärbel Schomberg, the senior German real estate figure who was most recently Head of Continental Europe at Aberdeen Property Investors, has been appointed to the Sustainability Advisory Board of ECE, the Hamburg-based real estate project developer.
Hrafn Magnússon, Managing Director of the Icelandic Federation of Pension Funds, is to retire after its annual meeting in May. “The Board has therefore decided to advertise the vacant managing job applications,” the federation says.Barrick Gold, the Canadian mining firm that is excluded from the investment universe of investors such as the Norwegian Government Pension Fund, is to appoint an independent director to its board to boost to corporate social responsibility (CSR) commitment.
