The Children’s Investment (TCI) Fund Management is one of the top 10 investors in controversial defence company Lockheed Martin, RI has learnt, raising questions from NGOs about a disconnect with the hedge fund's climate credentials.
According to the latest data from Market Screener, Sir Chris Hohn’s hedge fund owns 2.05% of Lockheed Martin. A SEC filing suggests that TCI was also invested in the company in 2010 but it is unclear whether it has been invested consistently since then.
TCI declined to comment when asked how Lockheed Martin fits into its portfolio and whether it is something they are taking an activist, short, or long equities position on. It would also not comment on whether it had an exclusion policy.
According to TCI’s website, its engagement, voting, and divestment appear to focus solely on climate. Hohn has been lauded in recent months for TCI’s popular ‘Say on Climate’ campaign which has resulted in at least 15 companies…
