

Katarina Utterström is stepping down from her role as Chief Financial Officer and Head of Business Support and Control at Tredje AP-fonden (AP3), the SEK233bn (€28bn) Swedish buffer pension fund that is one of the world’s leading responsible investment institutions.
Utterström, who joined AP3 in 2008, is to join financial management consulting group Omeo as a consultant.
In addition, the fund has named Claudia Stanghellini as its new Head of External Management.
In the role she will be responsible for all fund manager selection, manager research and portfolio construction for external managers. The brief covers hedge funds, traditional long only mandates and un-funded mandates in all asset classes.Stanghellini, who joined the fund in 2002, was most recently a portfolio manager and she takes over from Mattias Bylund, who becomes Chief Risk Officer and Head of Business Support & Control.
It comes as AP3’s former Chief Investment Officer Erik Valtonen has been named chief executive of Blue Diamond Asset Management. He joins the Switzerland-based firm from his own consultancy, which he set up when he left AP3 in 2011.
Separately, AP3 has also named hedge fund advisory firm Aksia for an operational due diligence role. Link
