Aviva Investors, the asset management arm of insurance giant Aviva, has named EIRIS’s research head Stephanie Maier as its new Corporate Responsibility Manager.
She will head up the firm’s Corporate Responsibility effort and assist with its external engagement activities, reporting to Steve Waygood, Head of Sustainability, Research and Engagement.
Maier, who was a member of the Indicators Working Group developing the Global Reporting Initiative’s sustainability reporting guidelines, was formerly with corporate governance consultancy PIRC. She will be replaced at EIRIS by Carlota Garcia-Manas.

“Stephanie’s role will involve building a framework within Aviva Investors for employees to engage andparticipate with local communities, as well as working with our investment teams to promote responsible investment and transparent engagement with stakeholders on sustainability issues,” Waygood said in a statement.
“Her wealth of experience in the field, combined with her excellent academic grounding, makes her a natural choice for this role.”
Maier headed a team of more than 30 researchers and six international research partners at research house EIRIS, Ethical Investment Research Services.
Garcia-Manas has developed EIRIS’ new global criteria for the assessment of water risks, to be launched in 2011 as well as being instrumental in the development of its Sovereign Bond product.
