A healthy planet, greater equality and improved governance are the elements of a sustainable recovery from the pandemic crisis, says Robeco CEO Gilbert Van Hassel in the latest ESG Leaders video.
“We see protests all over the world and clearly the immediate cause is racism and police violence but from my perspective it goes much deeper,” he says in conversation with Responsible Investor’s Daniel Brooksbank.
“It’s about inequality, it’s about poverty. About not having access to a public health system. About not having equal chances to a good education. And, you know, its not only unfair, it’s unjust.”
