Global ESG consulting firm names new Nordic head

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) research and analysis firm Sustainalytics has appointed a Canadian economist to head up its new Copenhagen office and spearhead expansion into northern Europe.
The company has announced the appointment of Liz Wirth as Senior Responsible Investment Adviser, Nordic region.
Wirth, who has an MBA in Business and Sustainability from Toronto’s York University, spent nearly 10 years as a senior economist and financial strategist at the Bank of Montreal and started her career as an economist at the Bank of Canada, the central bank.
“In her new role with Sustainalytics, Liz will beresponsible for client services within the Nordic markets as well as Sustainalytics’ stock market indexes,” the firm said.
“Liz’s presence there continues our commitment to provide clients access to global responsible investment solutions that are informed by the conditions and subtleties of the local markets,” said the firm’s CEO Michael Jantzi.
He said Wirth’s mainstream capital markets experience “position her nicely” to support clients who integrate ESG factors into their investments.
Sustainalytics was formed from the merger between Sustainalytics and Jantzi Research in 2009.
