With 50,000 delegates, 10 days of events and the usual political wrangling expected at the forthcoming Rio+20 Summit in Rio de Janeiro, it can be easy to miss the wood for the trees, so here’s a guide to some of the investor-specific events expected around the event.
Things to look out for include the launch of two initiatives, the Natural Capital Declaration and the Principles for Sustainable Insurance. Also, there could be potential agreement on a convention on corporate sustainability reporting, which has been presented by the Corporate Sustainability Reporting Coalition headed up by Aviva Investors.

The Rio summit will be followed by the International Corporate Governance Network’s (ICGN) annual conference (June 25-27) and the UN Principles for Responsible Investment’s PRI in Person (June 28-29).
