People & Appointments: Goldman takes engagement expert from UK regulator to become head of stewardship

Jen Sisson will join Goldman Sachs Asset Management next month as its Head of Stewardship EMEA. Sisson joins from UK regulator the Financial Reporting Council where she was Deputy Director of Stakeholder Engagement and Corporate Affairs. She has previously held roles at PwC as part of its global investor engagement team, and acted as part of the secretariat for the Corporate Reporting Users Forum.

David Harris has joined the London Stock Exchange Group to lead its Sustainable Finance product team as Global Head of Sustainable Finance, Data & Analytics. Harris joined FTSE in 2002, and played a critical role in developing its sustainable finance index, as well as the development of products including Smart Sustainability, Green Revenues, climate indexes and data analytics.

Anne-Claire Roux, former CEO of sustainable investment initiative Finance for Tomorrow, has taken up a new role as Head of Mirova’s Forward Endowment Fund. Roux, who will report to Mirova CEO Philippe Zaouati, started her career working in environmental security issues at the French Ministry of Defence.

HSBC Asset Management has appointed two former members of Centrica’s venture investments team to its new climate technology team. Christophe Defert and Michael D’Aurizio, who both left their roles at Centrica in December, join as Head of Climate Technology Venture Investments and Investment Director for Climate Technology, respectively. 

Jayne Sutcliffe has been appointed Non-Executive Chair of WHEB Asset Management. Sutcliffe, who co-founded Regent Pacific Group and Charlemagne Capital, will replace Geoff Hall as Chair. Hall retires from his position having seen a rise in WHEB’s AUM from £20m to £1.2bn over the course of his 10 years at the firm.

Bob Litterman and Anne Simpson have joined the board of Ceres. Litterman, founder of Kepos Capital and a well-known figure in the risk management space, and Simpson, Managing Investment Director for Board Governance and Sustainability at CalPERS, are joined by Georges Benjamin, Executive Director of the American Public Health Association; Bertrand Millot, Head of Climate Risk and Issues at Canadian pension fund CDPQ; Susan Nickey, Chief Client Officer at Hannon Armstrong; venture capital expert Bahiyah Yasmeen Robinson; and Keesa Schreane, Global Partner Director at the London Stock Exchange Group.

Former Head of Sustainability Research at Swedbank Robur, Eva Axelsson, has joined Saab as Head of Corporate Responsibility. 

Low Carbon Investment Management has announced the appointment of Brian Clarke as Non-Executive Director. Clarke spent nine years at IFM Investors prior to joining Low Carbon, and was also a Senior Managing Director at Macquarie Capital USA. 

Helena Viñes Fiestas is no longer a Director at the Institutional Investors Group on Climate Change, according to Companies House filings. Having left her role as Global Head of Stewardship at BNP Paribas Asset Management at the start of May, she is now a Commissioner at the Spanish regulator Comisión Nacional del Mercado de Valores.
