People & Appointments: EdenTree names Esguevillas as new head of RI

The latest ESG movers and shakers: PFA AM promotes Bessing to head of ESG investing; Utermarck steps up at ICMA.

EdenTree Investment Management has promoted Carlota Esguevillas to head of responsible investment. Esguevillas was previously senior responsible investment analyst, and has worked at EdenTree for three years. She replaces Neville White, who is retiring after more than 13 years at the manager. White will continue to work for EdenTree as a strategic adviser.

Rasmus Bessing has been promoted to head of ESG investing and co-CIO PFA at Asset Management. Bessing joined PFA in 2006 and spent more than eight years as senior legal counsel and associate general counsel at PFA Pension before moving to the asset management arm in 2014. He will continue in his role as a non-executive director at the Danish Investment Association, which he has held for eight years.

Simone Utermarck has been promoted to sustainable finance senior director at the International Capital Market Association (ICMA), after joining the organisation in 2020 as sustainable finance director. She was formerly head of investor relations for South and Southeast Asia at S&P Global Ratings, where she worked for five years. Utermarck was also a member of the EU Platform on Sustainable Finance between 2020 and 2022.

The Australian Sustainable Finance Institute (ASFI) is recruiting a project officer to join its taxonomy team. The successful candidate will be responsible for secretariat functions for the taxonomy project, including contributing to the planning, execution and management of stakeholder consultations, and drafting communications. Applications close on 17 January.
