People & Appointments: Emma Hunt joins HSBC pension fund as head of RI

Emma Hunt has been appointed head of responsible investment at HSBC Bank’s UK pension scheme, one of the country’s largest. Hunt, who was a non-executive director at Carbon Tracker for three years and sits on the Big Exchange’s investment committee, leaves her role as senior director, client services at Impax Asset Management. She has previously headed sustainable investment at Mercer and Willis Towers Watson, and was co-head of EOS at Federated Hermes for two years.

Edward Hogg has been appointed head of gas and industry (climate) at the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation. Hogg left his role as head of the green finance team at the UK’s department for business, energy and industrial strategy earlier this month.

The UN Environment Programme’s Finance Initiative is hiring a banking, biodiversity and natural capital specialist.

Dan Neale has joined the Church Commissioners in the newly created role of lead for responsible investment social themes. Neale, who sits on EFRAG’s social working group, leaves his role as transformation lead for social at the World Benchmarking Alliance.

Jill Jackson, CEO of investment platform The Big Exchange, has announced she is to step down. She has held the role since 2019, and will become a non-executive director. Abigail Sater, currently COO, will take over as interim CEO while a replacement is found.

Marian Woodward has joined Rathbone Greenbank Investments as impact manager. Woodward, who joins after the completion of her Master of Public Administration at the London School of Economics, has previously been a responsible investment analyst at Fidelity International and held roles at EY and the Centre for Refugee Research.

Quintin Rayer, head of research and ethical investing at P1 Investment Management, has become an associate business fellow at the UK Centre for Greening Finance and Investment.
