People & Appointments: KPMG appoints EMEA biodiversity lead

The latest ESG movers and shakers: IGCC corporate engagement director resigns; the PRI promotes climate and investor engagement specialist.

Orlaith Delargy has been promoted to biodiversity lead for KPMG’s EMEA ESG team following more than a year as associate director. The role is a new addition to KPMG’s EMEA ESG hub. Delargy previously worked as a sustainability adviser at SustainabilityWorks Ireland.

Laura Hillis has resigned from her role as director of the Investor Group on Climate Change’s corporate engagement after more than three years at the organisation. Her new role has not yet been announced. Dani Siew, a corporate engagement manager, will serve as acting head of the team while IGCC recruits a permanent replacement.

Rosie Farr has been promoted to climate and investor engagement specialist at the Principles for Responsible Investment after more than two years at the organisation. She previously worked as stewardship specialist and held a role as ESG analyst at EBS Advisory.

Ryohei Yanagi has been appointed as deputy president of M&G Japan. He is well known for his work on ESG and stewardship due to his development of the ‘Yanagi model’, a formula designed to show the relationship between ESG factors and corporate value. Yanagi is also an adviser for ABeam Consulting and Esai US.

Candriam Asset Management has hired Dany da Fonseca as co-manager of the sustainable bond euro corporate strategy. Previously, Fonseca worked at Amundi, where he managed and contributed to the development of thematic ESG credit strategies.

Philip Krinks has joined Agilitas Private Equity as an ESG transformation consultant to support the firm’s responsible investment strategy. He was previously a senior adviser for The Boston Consulting Group for more than 24 years.

Andy Chan has been appointed as climate risk manager, banking supervision at Hong Kong Monetary Authority. He joins from Capco where he worked as a management consultant. Chan has also held roles at PwC as a sustainability and climate change senior associate and at EY as a climate change and sustainability consultant.

ThomasLloyd has hired Smita Nakhooda as head of impact and ESG, a newly created role. She was formerly a principal results management specialist with a focus on SDGs at the Asian Development Bank.

Aria Goudarzi has been promoted to lead global ESG and data reporting at Nikko Asset Management Group. This will be in addition to his existing role as head of strategic analytics and data. Goudarzi has spent more than eight years with the firm and previously worked at Macquarie Investment Management for five years.

Andrew McKee is joining investment management DPAM as fund manager for Asian sustainable equities. He previously worked as an investment analyst for Columbia Threadneedle Investments, FSSA Investment Managers and First State Stewart Investments.

Panagiota Batziou has joined NN Investment Partners as an analyst on green, social and impact bonds. She previously worked at INNIO Group as group sustainability analyst and has held ESG intern roles at Stafford Capital Partners and Robeco.

Gesa Vögele has been hired as senior sustainable finance consultant at German sustainability ratings provider imug. She is a member of management at CRIC, a member of the ethics advisory council at Pax-Bank eG and an associate at the Institute for Social Banking.

Asian Development Bank is seeking a climate change specialist to support the integration of climate change in ADB’s operations. The candidate will provide climate change expertise to support four of the operational department’s activities relating to low-carbon development, including the economic transition to net-zero-resilient economies, the Just Transition, Paris Alignment, and supporting the enabling environment for transition through climate policy and plans in APAC. Applications will close on 17 October.

Rabobank is recruiting a senior biodiversity specialist who will be responsible for integrating biodiversity commitments into commercial business development solutions for F&A clients, work with project team members to embed biodiversity, take a proactive approach towards market developments and search for clients and opportunities, take an active stance in relevant networks and working groups, and contribute to internal projects related to optimising the organisation and development of the department.
