The UK’s Sustainable Investment Forum has appointed Jason Mitchell, head of responsible investment research at Man Group, as its new chair. He will replace Michael Meehan, who served as chair for more than three years. Mitchell has worked at Man Group for more than 13 years, initially as a portfolio manager. He launched the Man GLG Global Sustainability Fund and managed the Virgin Climate Change Fund before moving into responsible investment roles.
Ontario Teachers Pension Plan Board has appointed Anna Murray as senior managing director and global head of sustainable investing. She was previously managing director and global head of ESG at Sun Life Capital Management. Murray also spent seven years at BentallGreenOak in several sustainability roles. She will continue in her roles as co-chair of the Principles for Responsible Investment real estate advisory committee and of the environmental committee at the Pension Real Estate Association. She also serves on the board of directors for the Responsible Investment Association and the Canada Green Building Council.
Clément Bourgey is leaving his role as deputy head of the Climate Change Centre of the Banque de France after more than 11 years of service. He will also leave his role as senior adviser to the head of the Network for Greening the Financial System after more than four years in the position.
Tom Arup has been appointed as senior specialist stewardship on sovereign climate engagement by the Principles for Responsible Investment. He was previously climate lead for the Centre for Policy Development in Australia. He has also worked as director of strategic projects for the Investor Group on Climate Change, as well as for the Asia Investor Group on Climate Change.
Elissa El Moufti has been hired as an ESG engagement associate by Federated Hermes. She previously worked as business development analyst at ESG Book. El Moufti has held various ESG roles, including sustainability analyst at Ecofye, research assistant on climate policies at the London School of Economics and Political Science, and research assistant at the Grantham Research Institute on Climate Change and the Environment.
AXA Investment Managers has appointed two responsible investment experts. Clément Bultheel has been appointed as sustainability coordinator and Benjamin Jacot as ESG quantitative analyst. Bultheel previously worked as a sustainable finance consultant at Quantis and before that as sustainable finance officer for the French ministry of environmental transition. Jacot previously worked as a financial engineer at La Française.
ShareAction is recruiting a biodiversity senior manager to develop and deliver campaign strategies for company and investor engagement. The candidate will work with asset managers, asset owners and banks to raise awareness around biodiversity loss, and improve policy and regulation around nature to incentivise action. Applications are being considered on a rolling basis.
Emily Pierce has been appointed as associate general counsel and VP of global regulatory climate disclosure at Persefoni. She was previously assistant director of international affairs at the Securities and Exchange Commission for 12 years.
Carol Thomas has been reappointed by the Investment Association as head of sustainable and responsible investment. She first worked for the organisation as a retail markets specialist for more than four years. She was previously head of asset management policy at M&G. Thomas also spent more than seven years at the Financial Conduct Authority.
Carlos Bravo Navarro has been hired as junior policy adviser at the European Sustainable Investment Forum. He was previously a sustainability reporting and advocacy intern at Accountancy Europe.
