CANDIDATE STATEMENT
PRI is a relevant initiative to spearhead sustainable finance and showcase progress of its members in the transparency and accountability of their compliance with responsible principles.
Beyond that, I’m convinced that the financial industry is not neutral as regards the transition toward a sustainable low-carbon and resilient economy. Of course we need appropriate regulations and signals to flow the money on the right assets. But finance has its own part of responsibility to help and accelerate this evolution and it is the long term interest of financial actors to anticipate it. What is now at stake is the capacity of the global financial system to shift through an orderly process toward a new pattern, this “capital green shift” being an essential contribution to the global green shift itself.
PRI embodies this wise finance leadership and can play a decisive role, in the coming years, for dialogue both within the industry and with the regulators.
Within the financial industry, I am particularly interested in the fiducuary duties related to climate change and in metrics issues in search of clear methods to align portfolios with climate objectives.
As regards regulations, I think that there is a very dense dialogue agenda in the coming years, given the accelerations of initatives (G20, French law, British supervision…) As a member of the board, I will commit to this exciting collective challenge by investing my long personal and professional experience, my knowledge of the climate finance issues and my team-player capacity.BIOGRAPHY
