The Securities and Exchange Commission has announced the composition of its new 21-member Investor Advisory Committee set up under the Dodd-Frank Act. It contains a number of members familiar to responsible investment. They include Joseph Dear, Chief Investment Officer at CalPERS, Adam Kanzer, Managing Director and General Counsel of Domini Social Investments and Chief Legal Officer of the Domini Funds, Anne Sheehan, Director of Corporate Governance at CalSTERS, Damon Silvers, Associate General Counsel for the AFLCIO, and Ann Yerger, Executive Director at the Council of Institutional Investors. Anne Sheehan, director of corporate governance at the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS), has been elected chair of the Council of Institutional Investors, the US association of pension funds and other funds whose combined assets that exceed $3trn. Link to CII

Erik Heinen, Director of Loans & Investments at Netherlands-based microfinance investor Oikocredit, has died after a long illness. He joined Oikocredit in 1993 and became Director of Loans & Investments in 2009. “We will miss Erik dearly, and will remember his sense of humour, his work ethic, strong sense of values, and his commitment to making the world a better place,” said Ben Simmes, Deputy Managing Director. Maarten Slendebroek is to join the Jupiter Fund Management board as Executive Director responsible for Distribution and Strategy, a new role reporting to chief executive Edward Bonham Carter. He will join from BlackRock where he was Head of International Retail. Link
Matthew McAdam, former Associate Director of Communications at Standard & Poor’s in the UK, has joined the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment as head of communications. McAdam is a former journalist with the Australian Financial Review.Richard Fleck is to succeed Bill Knight as chairman of the Financial Reporting Review Panel, the arm of the UK’s Financial Reporting Council which oversees the annual accounts and directors’ reports of public and large private companies. Separately, Gay Huey Evans has been appointed to the FRC board. She is a director of Aviva and a non-executive director of the London Stock Exchange and a former vice chairman, Investment Banking & Investment Management, at Barclays Capital.

Rob Arnott is standing down as a director of Impax Environmental Markets Plc, the UK-listed environmental investor. Arnott, chairman of Irish-listed energy firm Petroceltic, won’t stand for re-election at the annual meeting on May 17.

Phineas Glover, Corporate Governance & Responsible Investment Analyst at the Co-operative Asset Management, is leaving to take on a role at the Association of British Insurers.

Vancity, the Vancouver-based credit union with $15bn (€11.5bn) in assets, is seeking an Investment Solutions Manager. “This role will ensure that our members in the mass market segment will be offered wealth management services, advice and socially responsible investing (SRI) solutions to meet their financial needs,” says the ad.

The United Nations Joint Staff Pension Fund has advertised a vacancy for an Investment Officer, North American Equities. Part of the role of the New York-based job is to integrate the Principles of Responsible Investments into investment analysis. The closing date is May 26. Link
