Brokerage Kepler Cheuvreux has confirmed that Stephane Voisin, Head Transition Research & Investment : Sustainable Finance has left the company. “I can confirm I have taken over as Head of Sustainability Research & Responsible Investment,” said Sudip Hazra, who joined in 2011 having been an Environmental, Social and Governance Analyst at Bloomberg. Kepler Cheuvreux is one of the leading European brokerages for socially responsible investing (SRI) and sustainability. Hazra told RI that the Transition Research team is “on full throttle” with Julie Raynaud working on her Carbon Compass series, Samuel Mary looking at Forest & Land Degradation and Hazra himself working on inequality as an investor theme. Hazra added: “I am also conducting a full review of our ESG integration process.

Dana Dillon has been re-elected chair of the trustee board at the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (CalSTRS). Dillon, an intermediate grade school teacher, has served on the Teachers’ Retirement Board since her election in 2003. She was previously board chair in 2007 and again from 2009-2014. Sharon Hendricks, a communications studies professor with the Los Angeles Community College District, was elected as vice chair. Link

Daniel Nielsen, the former Director of Socially Responsible Investing at Christian Brothers Investment Services (CBIS), the US Catholic investor, is now a Managing Director at $7bn Chicago-based firm Great Lakes Advisors, where he oversees its sustainable and responsible investing initiatives. Before CBIS, Nielsen was at Wespath (part of the United Methodist Church) where he led shareholder advocacy work. Julie Tanner is now Director of Catholic Responsible Investing at CBIS.

Jon Wellinghoff, the former chair of the US Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), is joining SolarCity, the Nasdaq-listed renewable energy firm chaired by Elon Musk, as Chief Policy Officer. He will join SolarCity’s executive management team and will report to Chief Executive Officer Lyndon Rive. John Stanton is leaving the firm after establishing its Policy and Electricity Markets team over a seven-year tenure.

Parul Sharma, Head of CSR Compliance at Swedish law firm, Advokatfirman Vinge, has been named Chair of a Swedish Government appointed delegation charged with supporting and stimulating Sweden’s implementation of the UN’s 2030 Agenda and its Global Goals for Sustainable Development.

Karen Simon, vice chair at investment bank J.P. Morgan Chase & Co. will become head of its Director Advisory Services, the Wall Street Journal has reported. It’s a new role serving as a central contact for people seeking board roles, according to a report citing an internal memo.

Charles Engles and Bernard Cherry are standing down as directors of Clean Diesel Technologies, the California-based, Nasdaq-listed emissions control tech firm, as their terms are ending.

Morningstar, the funds rating group that is moving into ESG, has made a series of management appointments in its global Manager Research team. Grant Kennaway has been appointed to the new role of global practice leader, overseeing Morningstar’s manager research practices around the world. Chris Traulsen becomes global ratings leader, a new role in which he is responsible for Morningstar Analyst Rating assignments globally.Mauricio Agudelo has left Calvert Investments, where he was a portfolio manager for a range the SRI firm’s funds including the Calvert Income Fund, the Calvert Bond Portfolio and the Calvert Green Bond Fund, according to a filing. He had been at Calvert since 2004 in various roles and according to his LinkedIn page he is now a Fixed Income Portfolio Manager at Homestead Funds, the Virginia-based investor created in 1990 by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association.

Graeme Griffiths has been named Associate Director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at the Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI). Griffiths, who will be leading the team responsible for outreach to EMEA, has more than 30 years’ experience in asset management and corporate finance, including roles in Vontobel Asset Management’s US-based quality growth equity business, Alliance Bernstein’s value equity team, KPMG Corporate Finance, and J.P. Morgan.

Deborah Gilshan is now Head of Sustainable Ownership at the UK’s railways pension administrator, RPMI Railpen Investments – taking over from the now retired Head of Corporate Governance Frank Curtiss.

French Environment Minister and COP21 President Segolene Royal has appointed Energie CEO Gerard Mestrallet and others to her new taskforce to develop proposals on how to implement a price floor for EU carbon allowances and for European electricity generation, reports Carbon Pulse. Along with Mestrallet, Royal has appointed former minister of development and current director of WWF France Pascal Canfin and economist Alain Grandjean. Royal said the panel expected to submit an initial roadmap by April 15.
