

The World Bank has named Jin-Yong Cai as the new chief executive of its private finance arm the International Finance Corporation (IFC). Cai will join in October from his role as head of Goldman Sachs’ investment banking operation in China. He takes over from Acting CEO Rashad Kaldany and is the permanent replacement for Sweden’s Lars Thunell, whose tenure ended in June. Announcement
The Australian government has named four new members to the Clean Energy Finance Corporation Board, the commercially orientated body that will facilitate green energy investment. Michael Carapiet is the former executive chair of Macquarie Capital. Ian Moore is a banker who was part of the recent CEFC Expert Review Panel. Anna Skarbek is the executive director of ClimateWorks Australia and a former vice president at Climate Change Capital. And Andrew Stock recently retired after a long career at Origin Energy. Prior to joining TCAM, Lorna worked at PIRC, the independent corporate governance research agency within the research and engagement team and for the retailer Arcadia Ltd as part of their sourcing team.
Victoria Barron, Stewardship Projects Manager at fund manger CCLA Investment Management, is to join Hermes Equity Ownership Services (EOS) as Assistant Manager in the UK Team.Paul Johnson has been appointed to the board of the Committee on Climate Change, the body which advises the UK government on emissions targets. Johnson is Director of the Institute for Fiscal Studies, the economic institute and a former deputy head of the Government Economic Service. Link
Michael Trotsky, executive director of the $50bn Massachusetts Pension Reserves Investment Management Board (Mass PRIM), has been named as chair of the CFA Institute’s Asset Manager Code Advisory Committee. The committee is the advisory body for the Asset Manager Code of Professional Conduct, the voluntary set of guidelines that outlines fund managers’ ethical and professional responsibilities.
Anita Burke has stepped down as executive director of Western Climate Initiative (WCI), the US non-profit corporation that coordinates state and provincial greenhouse gas emissions trading programs, for “personal reasons”. She joined WCI, which launched in November 2011, in March this year as its first head. Link
Peter Marks is to retire as Group Chief Executive of the Co-operative Group, the diversified mutually owned group which is parent of The Co-Operative Asset Management. Marks has spent six years in his current role and 45 years working within the wider Co-operative Movement. Announcement
