RI People & Appointments, August 28: Pax World seeks Head of Marketing

Leading US sustainable funds firm Pax World is seeking a Vice President – Head of Marketing. The Portsmouth, New Hampshire-based company, which has around $2.6bn (€2.1bn) in assets, said the role will be a “key architect in initiation, development and strategic oversight of PAX marketing across the enterprise”. Andrew Steer has been named as the new president of the World Resources Institute, the environmental think tank founded in 1982. Steer was most recently the Special Envoy for Climate Change at the World Bank and has served on UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon’s High Level Group on Sustainable Energy for All. Steer takes over from interim President Manish Bapna, who assumed the role from Jonathan Lash in 2010. Announcement

Zaheer Fakir, head of international relations at South Africa’s Department of Environmental Affairs, and Ewen McDonald, deputy director general of the Australian Agency for International Development, have been elected as the new co-chairs of the board of the United Nations’ Green Climate Fund. Rebecca Mikula Wright has decided to step down from her role as General Manager of the Association for Sustainable and Responsible Investment in Asia (ASrIA) and spend more time with her family in Sydney. ASrIA is looking for experienced candidates sharing the same vision. Link

Assaad Razzouk, Group CEO and co-founder of Singapore-based clean energy developer Sindicatum Sustainable Resources, has been appointed as a member of the ASrIA Advisory Board.

Geir Holmgren has been named as managing director of Storebrand Life Insurance (Livsforsikring), the largest subsidiary of Norway-based UN Principles for Responsible Investment signatory Storebrand. Link*Jyoti Chopra has been named as Global Head* of Diversity and Inclusion at BNY Mellon, the US investment management and investment services giant. Chopra was most recently at Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu as Global Leader for communications and public relations and she will report to Sheena Wilson, global head of talent strategy at BNY Mellon.

Dan Kowalchuk has been named as Chief Financial Officer of Solar Income Fund Inc., a Canadian company which develops and owns solar energy power generation installations. He was previously with Kingsway Arms Retirement Residence, a listed retirement homes operator. Link

The Carbon Disclosure Project has advertised a variety of jobs recently. The include: Government Relations Project Manager, London; Project Officer, Investor CDP, London; Communications Executive, London; Technical Manager/s, Climate Disclosure Standards Board (CDSB);

ECPAT UK, the charity which campaigns to end child pornography and trafficking, is seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer. The London-based role, which carries a salary of around £50,000 (€62,914), will succeed the current director Christine Beddoe who is leaving after eight years in the post. The deadline for applications is September 14.

Environmental, social and governance (ESG) research house Sustainalytics is seeking a Responsible Investment Manager, based in Toronto. The deadline for applications for the role, which reports to Simon MacMahon, Global Director, Advisory Services, is August 31.
