RI People & Appointments, August 28: Anne Kvam leaves KLP for role at Telenor

Anne Kvam is leaving her role as Head of Responsible Investment at Norwegian asset manager KLP to join telecommunications company Telenor as Executive Vice President and Chief Corporate Affairs Officer, overseeing sustainability and CSR, privacy and GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), as well as stakeholder dialogues and engagements. She was formerly Global Head of Ownership Policy with Norges Bank Investment Management (NBIM). She left NBIM in 2012 to join sustainability consultant DNV GL. KLP is currently seeking her replacement, to be tasked with “further developing its position as leader in the field”. The successful candidate’s responsibilities will include monitoring existing investments, advising on withdrawal and inclusion of companies from investments, and promoting corporate governance.

Jorgen Mork, formerly Executive Director – ESG Research Sales at MSCI, is now a Senior Relationship Manager at DNB Asset Management. He started in the sector with RiskMetrics, which was acquired by MSCI in 2010.

Æquo Shareholder Engagement Services has announced its second Director of Corporate Engagement, Anne Shiraishi. In her new role, the California-born corporate responsibility and communications professional will focus on engagement with US companies and specific consulting projects. Previously part of the Corporate Responsibility (CR) team at PwC US and, more recently, in the biopharmaceutical field, Shiraishi’s expertise includes ESG disclosure and consulting projects in the real estate and technology industries.

MSCI has appointed Kevin Kwok as Vice President, ESG Fixed Income Research. In his new role he will produce fixed income research, enhancing methodologies, and developing new products to support client efforts in integrating ESG factors into fixed income investments. He was most recently an Associate Director in S&P Global Ratings’ Energy, Materials, and Commodities practice.

Steve Ryder is reportedly leaving his role as CFO of Chicago-based wind power capacity owner Invenergy LLC to “pursue a new opportunity”. Invenergy did not name an immediate replacement but senior vice presidents for financial operations, corporate development and structured finance are expected to assume his responsibilities on a short-term basis. In his role, Ryder managed a 75-strong team in activities supporting the management of 7,000MW of clean energy assets. He joined the firm as Director in 2006, was promoted to Vice President in 2007 and to Senior Vice President in 2013. Link*Chris McKnett* has taken on his role as Senior ESG Investment Strategist at Wells Fargo, having spent a decade at State Street Global Advisors. He joined State Street in 2007 as Vice President, Sr Product Engineer before becoming Vice President & Head of ESG in 2012, and then Managing Director & Head ESG Strategist in 2015.

French Environment Minister Nicolas Hulot, a former TV presenter and green activist, has announced his resignation live on radio, saying he was disappointed at a lack of progress on climate and other environmental goals.

Sweden’s Sjunde AP-fonden (AP7) is recruiting a Project Manager for Responsible Investment as it looks to bolster its growing communication and ESG department. The pension fund is also seeking a Risk and Performance Analyst to be responsible for independent measurement and analysis of risk and return for AP7’s funds and portfolios, as well as external management mandates.

Vigeo Eiris is recruiting a Senior Business Development Manager to be based in London, selling products to institutional investors in the UK and Irish market. The successful candidate will secure new business, maintain existing clients, and ensure smooth transitions to new products. Link

The Climate Disclosure Standards Board is seeking an experienced and established thought leader in environmental and climate disclosure and mainstream reporting to appoint as the Chair of its Technical Working Group (TWG).

London-based business management consultancy Vivid Economics is looking to hire a Senior Economist to join its Climate Strategy practice.

New Development Bank (NDB), the multilateral development bank established by Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa (BRICS), is seeking an Environmental and Social Consultant. Based in Shanghai, the consultant’s responsibilities will include conducting social and environmental due diligence on financed projects, and engaging with clients to ensure proper mitigation of projects’ environmental and social risks.

The High-level Panel on Building a Sustainable Ocean Economy is recruiting a Deputy Head of Secretariat to work at its World Resources Institute (WRI)-led Secretariat, based in London or Washington DC. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day operations, coordination and implementation of the Secretariat’s duties, and for supporting the implementation of the Panel’s work.
