Stefan Crets has been named Executive Director of CSR Europe, the business network for corporate social responsibility. Crets was formerly General Manager for Corporate Planning and CSR at Toyota Europe.
Rebecca Long, former senior portfolio manager and chief administrative officer at US socially responsible investment firm Harrington Investments, has died. According to her obituary in the Napa Valley Register, Long was 55 and most recently worked at Charles Schwab.
Jonathan Davis has decided not to take up the role of Director of Investment Affairs at the Association of British Insurers. He had been hired to take over from Peter Montagnon, who has joined the Financial Reporting Council. Sir Michael Peat, chairman of the new International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC) set up by the Global Reporting Initiative and Prince Charles’ Accounting for Sustainability Project, is to retire from his role as the prince’s Principal Private Secretary. Rodger Lawson’s appointment to the board of US health firm UnitedHealth has been hailed by the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. He’s the former CEO of Fidelity Investments Financial Services and the appointment is part of a 2008 settlement in which the company agreed to have at least one shareowner-nominated director. Meanwhile, Patricia Macht, CalPERS’ director of external affairs is to retire at the end of June.
