RI People & Appointments, February 14: AXA names Corporate Responsibility head

Emmanuel Touzeau has been named as Head of Group Communication and Corporate Responsibility at AXA, the insurance and asset management firm with €1.1trn in assets under management. He takes over from Gaëlle Olivier, who has been appointed Chief Executive Officer of AXA’s property and casualty operations in Asia. Announcement

Dick Sluimers, chief executive officer of €280bn Dutch asset manager APG Group, has joined the IFRS Foundation, the body which oversees the International Accounting Standards Board, as a trustee. His intitial term runs until December 31 2013. Announcement

Stefan Crets has been named Executive Director of CSR Europe, the business network for corporate social responsibility. Crets was formerly General Manager for Corporate Planning and CSR at Toyota Europe.

Rebecca Long, former senior portfolio manager and chief administrative officer at US socially responsible investment firm Harrington Investments, has died. According to her obituary in the Napa Valley Register, Long was 55 and most recently worked at Charles Schwab.

Jonathan Davis has decided not to take up the role of Director of Investment Affairs at the Association of British Insurers. He had been hired to take over from Peter Montagnon, who has joined the Financial Reporting Council. Hugh Savill remains Acting Director of Investment Affairs while the ABI recruits a permanent replacement. Announcement

Sir Michael Peat, chairman of the new International Integrated Reporting Committee (IIRC) set up by the Global Reporting Initiative and Prince Charles’ Accounting for Sustainability Project, is to retire from his role as the prince’s Principal Private Secretary. Peat is a former partner with KPMG. Announcement

Rodger Lawson’s appointment to the board of US health firm UnitedHealth has been hailed by the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. He’s the former CEO of Fidelity Investments Financial Services and the appointment is part of a 2008 settlement in which the company agreed to have at least one shareowner-nominated director. Meanwhile, Patricia Macht, CalPERS’ director of external affairs is to retire at the end of June. Alf Duch-Pedersen is to stand from his role as chairman of Danske Bank. Vice Chairman Eivind Kolding will take over the post at the United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment signatory at the bank’s annual general meeting on March 29. Announcement

Friedrich Siener of German industrial group Daimler AG has been appointed to the European Financial Reporting Advisory Group’s technical expert group (TED). Alan Dangerfield has retired. Release

Oekom Research, the sustainability ratings company, is seeking a Sales Manager. Key aspects of the job will be market analysis and customer acquisition. It says: “The post will be based in Munich and we are looking to recruit someone as soon as possible.” Link
