The United Nations’ new Green Climate Fund has advertised a range of vacancies as it puts its interim secretariat in place in Bonn, Germany. There are currently nine roles available on the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change jobs board, including Investment Officer, Finance Officer and Senior Administrative Officer. The Green Climate Fund was set up to promote low-emission and climate-resilient “development pathways” in developing countries. The jobs are limited to the interim secretariat, although there’s a possibility for subsequent appointment to a post in the independent secretariat in South Korea, although these will be recruited separately.

The new Sustainability Standards Accounting Board (SASB) is seeking experts to help develop sustainability accounting standards for the financials sector. Experts are wanted from US based companies, foreign companies filing 20-Fs, or investors/analysts with exposure to US markets in one or more of the following industries: Commercial Banks, Investment Banking & Brokerage, Asset Management & Custody Activities, Consumer Finance, Mortgage Finance, Security & Commodity Exchanges, Specialized Finance and Insurance. “Take a leadership role in the movement that some call a ‘game changer for sustainable business’,” says the SASB. French state investor Caisse des Depots has named Gilles Seigle as head of its €1bn forestry investment arm Société Forestière. Seigle, who takes over from Laurent Piermont, was former director of regional development at CDC. Piermont will focus on his role as head of CDC Biodiversité. Andrea Thomas, senior vice president of sustainability at Walmart, was re-elected for another term. The body also has job vacancies for a Senior Researcher, Working Group Director and Working Group Manager.
Helen Roberts has joined the UK’s National Association of Pension Funds from F&C Asset Management to assist the NAPF’s work on investment issues such as asset allocation and pension fund diversification strategies. She was previously head of UK gilt and inflation-linked bonds at Hermes Investment Management.
Laurens Swinkels, a former strategist at Dutch fund manager Robeco, has joined the Norwegian central bank’s asset management division as senior researcher, according to an IPE.com report. He will remain on the editorial board of Netspar, the Network for Studies on Pensions, Aging and Retirement and continue to lecture at the Erasmus School of Economics in Rotterdam.
