RI People & Appointments, January 10: Calvert Foundation names CEO

RI’s regular Monday review of people moves and appointments.

Lisa Hall has been named President and CEO of the $500m (€387m) Calvert Foundation, the non-profit collaboration between asset manager Calvert Group and the Ford, MacArthur and Mott Foundations. Hall, who had been in the role on an interim basis following the departure of former CEO Shari, had been Chief Lending Officer.” Link

Bob Welsh, CEO of Australian United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment signatory VicSuper, has retired. VicSuper claims to be the first super or pension fund in the world to release a sustainability report. Announcement

Jan Ostergaard, Chief Investment Officer of Danish UN PRI signatory Industriens Pensionsforsikring, has been appointed as a director of ARP Absolute Return Funds, part of the Absolute Return Partners multi-manager firm run by Danish financier Niels Clemen Jensen. Regulatory filing

Stefan Janssen has joined the VBDO (Vereniging van Beleggers voor Duurzame Ontwikkeling), the Dutch SIF, as a researcher and project manager.

Maurice Gabay has been named the new Chairman of OPTrust, the C$12bn (€9.3bn), pension fund of the Ontario Public Service Employees Union, a signatory to the UN PRI. He was formerly Vice-chairman. Scott Campbell becomes Vice-Chair. Link

Thomas Beyerle has been named Head of Corporate Social Responsibility & Research at German real estate asset manager IVG Immobilien AG. He joins from Aberdeen Group. IVG has around €22bn in assets under management. Release

Pim van Ballekom has been named Head of International Public Affairs at Dutch pension provider APG. Based in Brussels, he will lobby on behalf of the Dutch pension system and APG’s clients. He was formerly Head of Cabinet of former European Internal Markets Commissioner Frits Bolkestein. Release

Nils Emilsson, First Vice President and Head of Lending at the Nordic Investment Bank, has died. “NIB has lost a valued colleague, one who always approached challenges from a positive perspective,” the bank said. Announcement

Charles Holliday, a non-executive director of Royal Dutch Shell, has joined the firm’s Corporate and Social Responsibility Committee. Holliday is a former CEO and chairman of industrial group DuPont. Link*David Hone*, Senior Climate Change Advisor for Shell, has been elected Chairman of the International Emissions Trading Association, replacing Jack Cogen. Newly elected to the Board are Brian Storms of APX, Joan Macnaughton of Alstom, Paul Dawson of RWE and Gray Taylor of the Canadian law firm Bennett Jones. Link

Richard Costigan, a former aide to California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, has been named to the Board of Administration of CalPERS, the California Public Employees’ Retirement System. He takes over from Patricia Clarey as State Personnel Board’s representative. Link

Hans Dalborg is to retire as Chairman of UN PRI signatory Nordea at its 2011 annual general meeting. He has been in the role since 2002 and played a key role in the consolidation of the Nordic banking market

Russell Campbell, former President/CEO of ABN AMRO Asset Management Holdings, has been named CEO of consulting firm Marco Consulting Group. MCG has also named Susan Crotty as a Senior Consultant and Senior Vice President. She formerly had senior roles at Tremont Group and Callan Associates. Link

There have been some changes at British Airways Pension Trustees Ltd. Sandra Sellers, former Chairman of the Association of BA Pensioners, has joined the board. BA’s Ian Howick and Robert Boyle have recently left, according to company filings.

Proxy advisory and research firm Glass Lewis & Co. is advertising a vacancy for an Environmental, Social & Governance Research Associate – San Francisco. The role is to look at executive pay, summarize annual meeting proposals on pay and offer voting recommendations to clients. Link

Shanghai-based insurance giant China Pacific Insurance (Group) Co., Ltd is looking for a Corporate Governance executive. The role will be to “develop corporate governance-related processes and supporting processes on a preliminary level” and make recommendations for improvements.

Allianz Global Investors is looking for an Equity ESG Analyst, France. The role involves environmental, social and governance analysis of companies for equity portfolio management “both ‘mainstream’ and SRI”. Link
