Eddy Wymeersch has been named Chairman of the European Corporate Governance Institute. He takes over from Antonio Borges, who has become Director of the European Department of the International Monetary Fund. Wymeersch, a founder member of the ECGI, was most recently Chairman of the Committee of European Securities Regulators. The move follows the resignation of Director of Standards David Simpson and Governing Council members. Accountability said there were “fundamental disagreements” between it and the board.

Joachim Faber is to retire from his role as head of the asset management arm of Allianz at the end of 2011, to be succeeded by Jay Ralph. Marna Whittington will step down as Chief Operating Officer of Allianz Global Investors in March to focus on her role as CEO of Allianz Global Investors Capital.
