Corporate governance specialist Jaap van Manen has been appointed Chairman of the Supervisory Board of APG Groep NV, the Netherlands’ largest pension provider. Van Manen is a partner at the Strategic Management Center, which focuses on corporate governance and strategy, and chairman of the Dutch Corporate Governance Code Monitoring Committee, among numerous other senior and expert roles. He succeeds Bart Le Blanc, who resigned at the end of his term in July.

Isabella Lövin, Swedish Minister for International Development Cooperation and Climate and Carlos Manuel Rodríguez, Costa Rica’s Minister of Environment and Energy, were tasked at COP24 with leading talks on how countries are to approach the latest IPCC report.

The Investor Group on Climate Change (IGCC), the Australasian body, has announced the appointment of Stephen Dunne, Board Director and Chairman of the Investment Committee at Cbus Super Fund, as Chair of the IGCC Management Committee, and Helga Birgden, Global Business Leader, Responsible Investment at Mercer Investments, as Deputy Chair.

NN Investment Partners has made two additions to its sustainable investing team. Annemieke Coldeweier, who is also currently Senior Portfolio Manager for both Specialised Fixed Income and Emerging Markets Debt, has taken on an additional role as Co-Lead Portfolio Manager for Sustainable Credits. Coldeweier has held a range of senior roles in more than a decade at the firm. Jovita Razauskaite has started as Portfolio Manager Green Bonds.

Tracy Wong Harris has joined Hong Kong Green Finance Association (HKGFA) as Deputy Secretary General. Harris, who has extensive financial markets experience, received the JPMorgan Employee Appreciation Award in 2015, and served as Board member of the Hong Kong LGBT+ Interbank.

Jeanett Bergan has moved back to her role as Head of Responsible Investments at KLP. She originally held the position for a decade, but left in 2017 to join PwC as Director Sustainability.

Joining Columbia Threadneedle’s Responsible Investment Team are Olivia Watson as Senior Analyst and Jess Williams as Portfolio Analyst, bringing the team to 12. They join from the PRI and S&P Global Ratings respectively.

German investment firm Deka Investment has hired Ingo Speich as Head of Sustainability and Corporate Governance, effective from April 2019. Speich spent 14 years at Union Investment where he was in charge of portfolio management in the sustainability and engagement team.

Eileen R Cohen has been named Chairperson of the National Grid Foundation’s board, according to her LinkedIn profile. Cohen retired from JP Morgan Asset Management in 2018. She was a Managing Director responsible for the firm’s Chair of the North America Proxy Committee, as well as leading initiatives in corporate governance. Cohen is also a past member of the advisory council of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board.Carlota Garcia-Manas, Senior Investment Stewardship Analyst for the Church Commissioners for England, is one of 15 voluntary members appointed to the UK Financial Reporting Council (FRC)’s newly formed Future of Corporate Reporting Advisory Group. Other members include: Simon Messenger, Director, 2° Investing Initiative; Roland Bosch, Corporate Engagement, Hermes Investment Management; and Karen Ri, Director, Responsible Investment, Asset Management One International.

Fintech firm Equiniti has expanded its recently-acquired proxy solicitation and corporate governance advisory business Boudicca Proxy Consultant with three new appointments. Proxy solicitation expert Nick Laugier joins as Director of Operations and Development, Wilfred Louwsma joins as Head of Operations and Sika Neckles joins as Corporate Governance Manager.

The UK Sustainable Investment and Finance Association (UKSIF) is seeking a new chair. It is inviting applications from candidates with “integrity, a commitment to changing the UK finance system for the better, and a willingness to challenge the Chief Executive and the market”. Bruno Bastit has started a new position as Senior Corporate Governance & Sustainable Finance Specialist at S&P Global Ratings.

Positive Money Europe, the NGO dedicated to making the banking system support a fair and sustainable economy, is seeking an Advocacy Officer. The “crucially important role” involves maintaining and developing engagement with parliamentarians, NGOs and other key influencers, as well as arranging meetings and public events.
