RI People & Appointments, January 31: Robeco names new finance chief

Asset manager Robeco has named Jurgen Stegmann, Chief Risk Officer at NIBC, as its new chief financial officer. He starts on March 15 and replaces Constant Korthout, who left last year to join Van Lanschot Bankiers. “We are taking a strong and experienced CFO on board,” said CEO Roderick Munsters. Release

Paul Spencer has been appointed Chairman of the Trustee of the £35bn (€40.6bn) BT Pension Scheme. He takes over from Rod Kent who is stepping down after three years. Spencer is also Chairman of British Airways Pensions, Chairman of Investments at the BAT Pension Fund and Chairman of Trustees at the Rolls-Royce Plc Pension Fund. Link

Jermyn Brooks, the former Executive Director of Transparency International, has been appointed as the first independent chair at the Global Network Initiative, the freedom of expression advocacy group comprising investors, companies, civil society organizations and academics.

Salpi Sarafian, Research Manager at environmental, social and governance (ESG) research and analysis firm Sustainalytics, has left to pursue other opportunities. She was formerly with Wellington Management.

Henrique Martins de Araujo has joined Swiss-based responsAbility Social Investments as Senior Investment Officer. He was formerly a microfinance specialist at the World Bank’s International Finance Corporation. responAbility is also adervtising two new jobs: Investment Officer for Fair Trade, Sustainable Agriculture and Trade Finance and Regional Manager Latin America.
Beverly Brooks has been named managing director at Kingsdale Communications, the investor relations and public affairs arm of Canadian proxy firm Kingsdale Shareholder Services Inc. Alexander Nick, Director of Client Services at think tank SustainAbility, has joined car firm BMW in a corporate strategy and sustainability role. Nick was head of SustainAbility’s healthcare sector portfolio.

Elin Myrmel-Johansen, Executive Vice President of Corporate Responsibility at Nordic insurance group Storebrand is to take “another position within the group” as part of a corporate restructuring. Tove Bångstad has been named Business Development Director, Sweden at Aviva Investors. She joins from SEB Wealth Management where she was most recently Head of Institutional Clients, Sweden. She will report to Véronique Cherret, Head of Institutional, UK & Europe.

Deutsche Bank is advertising a vacancy for a Senior Investment Officer in its Global Social Investment Funds, based in New York, to assist in developing the bank’s Social Investments business. Deutsche’s Community Development Finance Group currently manages about $0.5bn in socially motivated assets – which is expected to grow to $1bn within five years. Link
