Trucost, the environmental data provider, has advertised a vacancy for a Senior Account Director to lead the management of its corporate clients – including names such as BNP Paribas, Royal Bank of Scotland, the International Finance Corporation/World Bank, Standard & Poor’s, BskyB, Novartis, Mitie, Puma, Sprint and Agilent – in either the UK or Continental Europe. The role will report directly to the Chief Operating Officer. The firm also has vacancies for a GIS Analyst, Senior Research Analyst: Financial Institutions Services, Research Analyst and Writer/Research Editor.

Betsy Martin, a former board member of Canada’s Social Investment Organization (SIO), and a leading advocate for impact investing by foundations, has died from cancer aged 54. Link

Alan MacKay is reportedly standing down as chief executive at Hermes GPE, the £6bn (€6.9bn) private equity firm linked with the BT Pension Scheme-owned Hermes fund management group. It comes as Hermes GPE is restructuring into two separate parts. MacKay, formerly a Group Partner at 3i for over 20 years, will remain with the company in an advisory role. Hermes GPE is the result of a merger between Hermes Private Equity’s funds-of-funds business and Gartmore. Going forward, Hermes GPE’s private equity business will be headed by investment head Peter Gale, while Peter Hofbauer will lead its infrastructure arm.

Lord McConnell, the former First Minister of Scotland, is to chair a new panel set up by energy firm SSE to oversee community funding potentially worth around £90m the next 25 years. The fund will be available to non-profit-making organisations, community groups and charities within regions in which SSE is constructing a wind farm.Peter Loescher, CEO of German industrial giant Siemens and architect of its drive to become a “green infrastructure giant” is reportedly facing the axe. He took over in 2007 in the wake of a corruption scandal at the company but market conditions eventually forced the closure of the company’s solar division with losses of more than €1bn. It’s being reported that company veteran, CFO Joe Kaeser, is set to replace Loescher this week.

José Meijer has been named as the vice chair of the board of ABP, the €286bn Dutch civil service pension fund. He will succeed Xander den Uijl, who departs on August 1.

Stakeholder Forum, the international body that advocates sustainable development and promotes democracy, is seeking a Head of UN Relations. The purpose of the New York-based role is to act as the focal point for the Forum and its work in New York and at the UN Headquarters.

Publish What You Pay (PWYP), which campaigns for extractives industry transparency, is seeking a Regional Coordinator to support its affiliated national coalitions and members in the Eurasia region. The remit of the position is to “facilitate more frequent communications and information exchange” between civil society groups working in the region. The deadline for applications is July 31.

The GAVI Alliance (the former Global Alliance for Vaccines and Immunisation), and the body behind so-called “vaccine bonds”, is recruiting a Managing Director, Policy and Performance. The deadline for applications to Geneva-based GAVI is August 19. Link
