Knut Kjaer, the former chief executive of Norges Bank Investment Management and president of RiskMetrics, is to head a new asset management firm – according to reports in the Norwegian press. Kjaer left RiskMetrics after it was bought by MSCI in a $1.55bn deal last year.

Björn Kristiansson has taken over from Per Lekvall as Secretary and Executive Director of the Swedish Corporate Governance Board. Kristiansson is a partner at Hannes Snellman Attorneys Ltd. Lekvall will continue as a member of the Board. Link

Paul Jeffries, Investment Manager at Railpen Investments, has joined alternatives house Permal in the new role of head of UK institutional business. Jeffries was at Railpen since 2005 and has had stints at RMB International and Thomson Financial.

Fields Wicker-Miurin, co-founder of the international social enterprise Leaders’ Quest, has been named as an independent director on the board of BNP Paribas. She is also a non-executive director of CDC Group plc and is a former CFO of the London Stock Exchange. Announcement

Lesley Knox is to step down as chairwoman at Alliance Trust. The announcement came just ahead of its annual general meeting where the investment trust was due to confront activist investor Laxey Partners.
Beatriz Perez has been appointed Chief Sustainability Officer at drinks giant Coca-Cola Co. Currently Chief Marketing Officer for Coca-Cola North America, Perez will integrate Coke’s sustainability initiatives through a new global Office of Sustainability, reporting to Chief Administrative Officer Alex Cummings. Hans-Christoph Hirt, global head of corporate engagement at Hermes Equity Ownership Services, has been named to the company’s board, according to a filing at Companies House. He joined Hermes EOS in 2004 and is the principal author of the Hermes Corporate Governance Principles.

Kristi Savacool and Baljit Dail have been named as co-CEOs of consulting firm Aon Hewitt. The pair, currently CEOs of Benefits Administration Consulting respectively, will report to Greg Case, president and chief executive officer of Aon. They replace Russ Fradin of Aon Hewitt, who is leaving to head up SunGard. Release

David Murray, chairman of the A$64.6bn (€48.5bn) Future Fund Board of Governors, has stepped down from his role as chairman of the International Forum of Sovereign Wealth Funds after a two-year stint as the forum’s first chairman. He will be succeeded by Jin Liqun, Chairman of the Board of Supervisors at the China Investment Corporation (CIC).

Sustainable banking specialist Triodos has advertised a vacancy for a UK Head of Compliance. The role reports to the UK Managing Director and is accountable in particular for compliance and money laundering oversight for its retail and investment banking activities.

Railpen, one of the leading responsible investors, has advertised a vacancy for an Investment Manager. The £20bn pension fund “currently has a vacancy for an Investment Manager to join the Investment Strategy team” – responsible for formulating investment strategy and providing advice to stakeholders.
