

The Ecumenical Council for Corporate Responsibility (ECCR), the church-based investor coalition and membership organisation working for economic justice, human rights and environmental sustainability, has appointed John Arnold as its new Executive Director. He joins from the Fairtrade Foundation where he headed Partnerships and Programmes. Arnold takes up his post on November 1; his role will include liaising with Church and other institutional investors to coordinate shareholder action.
The Asset Owners Disclosure Project, the not-for-profit group seeking fuller disclosure of asset owners’ climate change risk, has appointed Dr Bob Litterman to its board. Litterman is the former Goldman Sachs veteran who co-developed the Black-Litterman Global Asset Allocation Model. He joins other new board appointments, including former Australian politician and Macquarie Bank director John Hewson as chairman.
Mark Zinkula, chief executive at asset management giant Legal & General Investment Management (LGIM), has been appointed to the board of parent firm Legal & General Group Plc. UN Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) signatory LGIM has £381bn (€477.9bn) in assets under management. Zinkula was appointed CEO of LGIM in March 2011.
The Universities Superannuation Scheme has appointed Steve Deeley and Rob Horsnall as infrastructure investment managers. Deeley joins from UBS Global Asset Management while Horsnall is an internal appointment. Link
Mikhail Zverev has been appointed as Head of Global Equities at Standard Life Investments, the UN PRI signatory fund firm he joined in 2007. Announcement*Nathaniel Keohane has rejoined* the Environmental Defense Fund, the US non-profit organisation, as a vice president, having recently left a position in the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Energy and Environment in the National Economic Council and Domestic Policy Council. In his new role Keohane will help to lead a new strategic effort on global climate change. Link

Zhang Xinsheng has been named as the new president of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN). Zhang is Co-founder and Executive Chairman of Eco-Forum Global, an independent organization founded in 2009 committed to building consensus among all stakeholders for development of a green and sustainable future.
