Ashley Hamilton, former research analyst at the Shareholder Association for Research and Education (SHARE), has set up her own Vancouver-based firm. Ashley Hamilton Consulting focuses on Responsible Investment, shareholder engagement and capital strategies. Geoff Sorbello has joined US proxy firm Okapi Partners as a managing director. He joins from MSCI’s ISS/RiskMetrics arm. At ISS, Sorbello was responsible for advising hedge fund clients. Announcement

Tom Steenkamp has been named co-head of investment solutions at Robeco, where he will work alongside Artino Janssen. He joins on November 1; he was formerly on the board of directors at APG, the asset management arm of Dutch civil service pension fund ABP. Link

Keith Skeoch, chief executive of Standard Life Investments and Lindsay Tomlinson, MD at BlackRock, are on the UK Financial Reporting Council’s new Advisory Group seeking lessons from the financial crisis. Elsevier’s Mark Armour, the Confederation of British Industry’s John Cridland and Grant Thornton’s Steve Maslin are also on the panel.Michael Eckhart, founding president of the non-profit American Council on Renewable Energy, has announced his retirement after nine years at the helm. Steven Lang has been appointed as the first UK and Ireland Cleantech Leader at professional services firm Ernst & Young. Lang, an 18-year E&Y veteran, will coordinate a team of more than 100 people. Link

Finnish President Tarja Halonen and South African President Jacob Zuma have been named as the two co-chairs of the United Nations’ new 21-member High-Level Panel on Global Sustainability. Members include top government officials, corporate executives and civil society representatives. Announcement

Martin Jochum, Senior Portfolio Manager at SAM, was named Lead Manager for the SAM Sustainable Healthy Living Fund and the Robeco Health & Wellness Fund – taking over from Rainer Baumann. Jochum joined SAM in March from Lombard Odier Darier Hentsch & Cie. Release

Jean-Yves Gilet has been appointed chief executive of the Strategic Investment Fund, a subsidiary of French state investor the Caisse des Depots. He takes over from Gilles Michel and takes office in September. Announcement
