RIAA seeks manager for Australian RI Academy

Govt backed Academy to push training, education and research.

The Responsible Investment Association Australasia (RIAA), is hiring a general manager to oversee one of the world’s first dedicated academies for training, education and research. In February 2009, the Australian government gave a huge boost to the development of responsible investment within Australia’s pensions and finance industry by awarding a grant worth Aus$2.5 m (€1.25m) for the creation of the Responsible Investment Academy. RIAA said applications for the Sydney-based manager post – a renewable one-year contract -will close on Friday 5 March with a start date in April. RIAA is overseeing the development of the academy, which aims to deliver face-to-face and on-line training courses, whilst also creating a web-based international network of responsible investment professionals. It also plans to create a range of diploma and certificate education courses on the impact of environmental, social and governance (ESG) issues on investment practices that can be rolled out globally.
