

The rising stars of corporate governance and responsible investing have been recognised in the first ever honours list published by the Millstein Center for Corporate Governance and Performance at the Yale School of Management. Among ten professionals marked out as outstanding analysts, experts, activists, and managers in their field are Daniel Summerfield, co-head of responsible investment at the Universities Superannuation Scheme, Bess Joffe, associate director of Hermes Equity Ownership Services, Michael McCauley, senior corporate governance officer at the Florida State Board of Administration, Phillip Spathis, executive officer at the Australian Council of Superannuation Investors and Peter Taylor, head of corporate governance at Aberdeen Asset Management.The list of rising stars recognises corporate governance professionals under the age of 40.
Nominations are made by peers and selected by a committee of leaders from the Millstein Center, the Open Compliance and Ethics Group, and the International Corporate Governance Network based on past accomplishments and thought leadership, future projects and endeavors, reputation among existing industry leaders, and potential to influence the industry in the future.
The awards were made at a reception at the 2008 Yale Governance Forum.
