Former Innovest research MD joins ESG emerging markets research firm

Research advisor takes up business development position at Solaron.

Andy White, former managing director of research at Innovest, has joined forces with Solaron, the Bangalore, India-based emerging markets ESG research company, as it looks to expand its business in the UK and Europe. White, an independent sustainable investment consultant, is involved in a number of different sustainability research roles including at Inflection Point Capital Management, the sustainable fund manager launched by Matthew Kiernan, former joint founder/owner of Innovest, which launched earlier this year.White, a respected ESG research analyst has taken the title of vice president for business development for UK and Europe at Solaron. White built and lead Innovest’s former research team in the UK and continental Europe before the firm was sold last year to Riskmetrics for $16m. While based in India, Solaron says it uses a network of analysts in countries including Brazil, Russia, Mexico, and Japan and also covers Eastern Europe and Africa. It says it is also building its presence in China. Solaron co-founder, Vipul Arora, said the firm would be looking to make further hires shortly.
