People & Appointments: Christina Olivecrona leaves AP2

Christina Olivecrona has left her role as senior Sustainability Analyst at AP2 to found her own consultancy called Olivecrona Sustainability. Olivecrona has been at AP2 since 2010, and was Chairperson of the Council on Ethics of the Swedish AP Fund in 2020, and sat on the Institutional Investor Group on Climate Change’s board for almost three years.

Phil Culver Evans has been promoted to Chief Executive Officer at sustainable private equity group Earth Capital. Culver Evans, who has previously held roles at Robert Walters, Huntsworth and College Hill, will move from his current role as Chief Financial Officer. His replacement as CFO has not been announced.

Dan Gardiner has joined the institutional Investors Group on Climate Change as a Transition Plan Specialist. Gardiner leaves his role as Technical Advisor at the Transition Pathway Initiative.

Mercedes Sotoka has left her role as Managing Director at ING’s Climate Risk Initiative.

Christophe Christiaen, Data, Innovation and Impact Lead at Oxford University’s Sustainable Finance Programme has stepped down as Head of Sustainable Finance at the Satellite Applications Catapult, an initiative looking at the use of geospatial data in sustainable finance decision making. The Catapult is recruiting for his replacement.

Andrew Parry is to join J O Hambro Capital Management as Head of Investments in February next year, leaving his role as Head of Sustainable Investing at Newton Investment Management. Before joining Newton, Parry was Head of Sustainable Investing at Hermes Investment Management. Newton is recruiting for his replacement.

Separately, Jennifer Law has been appointed Head of Stewardship at Newton, leaving her role as Vice President Investment Stewardship at BlackRock, where she had worked for 14 years.

ClimateCare is hiring for a number of roles, including a Carbon Portfolio Analyst and a Global Markets Analyst.

Sweden’s development finance institution Swedfund is hiring an ESG Manager for its Nairobi office.

Outgoing CEO of the Principles for Responsible Investment Fiona Reynolds has been appointed independent director on the board of Australian asset consultancy Frontier Advisors.

Vincent Dufief has joined Brunswick Group as Director. Dufief, who was a member of the American Petroleum Institute’s Climate Committee, left his role as Vice President Corporate and Government Affairs at Total in July. Before his previous role, Dufief was Total’s Head of ESG, Investor Relations.
