Generation Investment Management’s new investment business Just Climate has appointed Clara Barby as Senior Partner. Barby joins Just Climate from the Impact Management Project (IMP), where she was Chief Executive. This year she took partial leave from the IMP to be project lead for the IFRS Foundation’s efforts to establish the International Sustainability Standards Board, which was announced at COP26. She will join Just Climate, which seeks to “catalyse and channel capital to companies and projects which have the potential to deeply decarbonise our economy, but which are not yet fully served by traditional investment mandates”, in January.
The Principles for Responsible Investment (PRI) has appointed new board directors, with four asset owner and one investment manager position being competed for in this year’s election. Asset owner representatives elected to the board include Sharon Hendricks, Vice-Chair, CalSTRS Board; Laetitia Tankwe, Advisor to the President of French pension fund Ircantec; Wilhelm Mohn, Global Co-Head, Corporate Governance, NBIM, and Scott Connolly, Trustee Director, Telstra Super. Wendy Cromwell, Head of Sustainable Investment, Wellington Management, was elected to the investment manager board director position. The candidates were elected for three-year terms.
Meanwhile, the PRI is also hiring a Senior Relationship Manager based on the US West Coast.
KKR has announced the launch of a Sustainability Expert Advisory Council, chaired by Robert Eccles, the Founding Chairman of the Sustainability Accounting Standards Board. Eccles will be joined by Alexandra Givens, President and CEO of the Center for Democracy and Technology; Nat Keohane, President of the Center for Climate and Energy Solutions; Andrew Stern, Senior Fellow, Economic Security Project and President Emeritus of the Service Employees International Union; Roy Swan, Head of Mission Investments at the Ford Foundation and Claudia Zeisberger, Senior Affiliate Professor of Entrepreneurship and Family Enterprise at INSEAD and founder of the Global Private Equity Initiative.
Krispjin Bertoen has been promoted to Director of Responsible Investment and Governance at MN. His previous role was Senior Advisor Responsible Investment & Impact Investment. He replaces Karlijn Van Lierop who left MN after nearly a decade at the Dutch pensions administrator and manager to join BMO as its Director for Responsible Investment.

Janus Henderson Group has made a number of new appointments to its ESG investment team. Charles Devereux joins as ESG corporate research analyst from Aviva Investors and Jesse Verheijen also from Aviva Investors as an ESG Data Analyst. Blake Bennett will join the Denver Office as Governance and Stewardship Analyst, having previously worked as Operations and Policy Analyst at the State of Oregon’s Department of Environmental Quality; Junior ESG Corporate research analyst Olivia Jones joins the team from Kukua where she worked as an ESG and Sustainability Analyst and Bhaskar Sastry joins ESG content manager from State Street Global Advisors.
Wim Bartel has left his position as Global Co-Head of KPMG’s IMPACT Measurement, Assurance and Reporting Division after 32 years. He said on LinkedIn he will announce his next move in due course.
Shaina Tan has joined ANZ as Manager in the Sustainable Finance team in Singapore. She joins from EY, where she was a sustainability consultant. At ANZ, she will be reporting to Stephanie Vallance, Director – Sustainable Finance, International.
