Rodrigo Amandi, Managing Director of SAM Indexes, has left the company.
“I have stepped down with no destination yet,” he told Responsible Investor. He added he is currently “evaluating opportunities”.
SAM Indexes is responsible for global sales, licensing, media relations and marketing as well as client services for the Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes.
The index series has more than $8bn (€5.8bn) of assets under license. SAM and partner Dow Jones Indexes announced the results of the 2011 index review just last week.
Amandi joined SAM, the Zurich-based sustainable funds boutique that is now wholly owned by Robeco, in 2006 as an equity analyst. He became MD of its index operation at the start of 2010. He had been due to speak at the Association for Sustainable & ResponsibleInvestment in Asia (ASrIA) conference in Hong Kong later this month.
“We confirm that Rodrigo Amandi, Managing Director of SAM Indexes, has decided to leave the company,” said a company spokesperson. Kathelijne Marritt-Alers, Senior Relationship Manager, SAM Indexes, would now handle client and business partner-related responsibilities. Christopher Greenwald, Head of Sustainability Application and Operations, SAM Research, takes on the operational responsibilities for the DJSI.
Clients and Dow Jones have already been informed, the spokesperson added.
Meanwhile, SAM has a job vacancy for an Indexes Relationship Manager, with a focus on business development in the Nordics and German speaking countries. Founded in 1995, SAM has total assets of CHF13.8bn.
